What you need to know about COVID-19

The steps we are taking to protect you, your family, and our staff

Please note that our clinic entry door is currently closed – please call reception upon arrival and you will receive instructions accordingly.

Anyone who is visiting the clinic for COVID-19 testing will have to wait outside the premises. The testing entrance is at the front of the building.

What is Coronavirus?

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause respiratory infections. These can range from the common cold to more serious diseases.

COVID-19 is the disease caused by a new coronavirus. It was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan City in China.

What are the symptoms?

Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild illness to pneumonia. Some people will recover easily, and others may get very sick very quickly.

What you can do to protect yourself and others

  • Practise good hygiene: this will protect against infection and prevent the virus spreading. This includes washing hands frequently, covering coughs, putting tissues straight into a bin, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth, cleaning regularly used objects and surfaces and ventilating your home or workspace.
  • Social distancing: this is also called physical distancing. The more space between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread.
  • Stay at home unless you are: going to work or education, shopping for essential supplies such as groceries, going out for exercise in the neighbourhood or attending a medical appointment or compassionate visit.

What we are doing to keep you safe

Positive Pressure

Health 104 has positive pressure throughout the entire facility. This means that there is continuous airflow from high quality air conditioners which in turn pushes all air out of the building.

Social Distancing

We encourage and facilitate social distancing by having three separate waiting areas with seating spaced accordingly.

Front Door Triage

When you arrive at Health 104, one of our friendly staff will ask you a few simple questions in relation to COVID-19. Then you will be triaged to ensure the best care is provided in the safest possible environment.

COVID-19 Testing Referrals Available For Symptomatic Patients

If you have cold or flu symptoms such as a sore throat, cough, fever (>= 37.5oC) or shortness of breath, COVID-19 testing referrals can be arranged via telephone so that you can get tested at a drive through site.
